- cybernetics as a like… improved version of mutation (gives similar powers and even ones that animals never had, makes you closer to human) that's cost-prohibitive compared to mutation (if you really wanna hammer this metaphor, mutation also significantly more dangerous)

Unprecedented advancements in bio-technology meant that fantastical abilities previously thought to be science fiction became the norm. For those willing to become mutants, (list of some things improved here. have it be like “work better {implied class thing here}, brain boost type shit, etc) With space finally becoming a source of resources, no longer were we forced to clash over who gets the biggest share of the pie and a golden age of almost-humanity was ushered in.

Unfortunately, (if you really want to MUH HUMAN CONDITION here dial down what message you want to push). All it was took was one errant knocker aimed at (high-value target, if USA govt then having this happen again would be some sick ass eternal recurrence type beat)

- NOTE: base ATB has racism against animal mutants and them being uncommon a thing. are we going with this or do we want an almost-furry type world?

- maybe for space related shit, humanity was in earlier stages and space structures/actually running mining operations are a thing but a little janky and limited

100 years after the bomb, the world is still in chaos. Whatever power structure is managed to spring up from well prepared bunkers fight like hll to keep a stronghold over their teritory and peace within their borders is onlykept by a constan state of warfare on the limits of their influence.

- they're still very much focusing on themselves, so criminal organizations are a big thing, corpos work in tandem with them in kind of tacit approval from nation-states, global financial system back up and running in some form
